Senior Software Engineer (Node.js)

Job description

Come design the future of an established tech company!

This job blends both the cultures of an established company and a startup. We are doing a complete revamp by building a new product line from the ground up, but we also have the continued backing of a successful business to see the project through unlike so many startups today. You and our Senior Software Architect will be building the platform of the future using our existing application merely as a guide for what needs to be done, all while having significant autonomy in deciding how that gets done. Imagine building an enterprise application so that it’s done the right way, without fighting through beuracracy and limitations of past design decisions from years ago. This is a developer’s dream project!

Our ideal candidate is a seasoned backend web developer (5+ years experience) with at least 2+ years of Node.js experience to create an API-based platform for an AWS SaaS solution.

This is a permanent, direct hire, full-time programming position that requires candidates to work onsite and be permanent residents (e.g. U.S. citizen, green card). Willing to pay top dollar for the right person ($100k – $130k). The ideal candidate takes great pride in delivering great quality work on time, and can handle great autonomy with care.

Must be proficient in Node.js, Hapi.js, Docker, MySQL, Redis, and Linux. Must have experience developing RESTful APIs, integrating with third-party vendors, and have familiarity with the AWS SDK (S3, SQS, SNS).

Experience with AWS infrastructure, monitoring, and deployment services (ELB, EC2, AutoScaling, ECS, RDS, ElastiCache, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch) a definite plus.

A little background on who we are:

RTA has been established since 1979, and has the reputation of providing the best customer service in the market. We pride ourselves on a caring, family oriented atmosphere for both staff and clients, and love that our work helps fleets run safer and more efficiently. Our clients carry kids in school buses, patients in ambulances, food and medical supplies in trucks, first responders in emergency vehicles, and people just taking the bus or train to work. We do meaningful work, and we want our clients to have the best tools available to them.

Our office spaces are open and spacious, with huge skylights over head that provide lots and lots of natural light. We come together once a month as a company to enjoy lunch and socialize, and have a relaxed yet goal-oriented atmosphere. We sell, develop, deliver, and support the product all in house, activities which require a lot of collaboration and teamwork. We are big into growth, both as a company, and for you as an individual.

Staff that commute from the east valley who love waving at the traffic going the other way while never having to look into the blinding sun. It only takes about 25 minutes to get here from downtown Scottsdale in the mornings. We are located close to Arrowhead Mall, with quick access to the 101 from multiple directions.
