NAFA Vehicle Classification System:
Comprehensive and flexible enough to apply any fleet application, the NAFA Standard Vehicle & Equipment Classification Code addresses the deficiencies of the various classification schemes in use today. With the NAFA system, any given vehicle or equipment fits only one category – and other classification schemes can be cross-referenced into it.
Instructions to add to the class code if a code does not already exist
NAFA Class Codes – Basic (Ready to be imported into RTA)
NAFA Class Codes – Full (Ready to be imported into RTA)

Instructions for installing the ATA VMRS Codes:
Be aware that by installing this file, you will be COMPLETELY OVERWRITING ALL EXISTING VMRS CODES in your RTA Fleet Management Software.
The new VMRS codes as supplied to us by the ATA/TMC will replace your existing codes. If their code is different than one you were already using, this may negatively affect your repair history reports. If you are tracking warranties, this may negatively affect your tracking. If you are using a different VMRS code for PMs, your vehicle PM records will need to be modified in order for PM records to be properly updated.
***We recommend you make a backup of the files called “wovmrsfl.rta” and “ptvmrsfl.rta” prior to proceeding with this installation.***
If you are unsure or would like more information, please contact technical support prior to proceeding with this installation.
This is compatible with RTA versions 6.4 through 6.8 using our native database. It will not update SQL or Oracle databases. Contact RTA Technical Support if you wish to install this to non-RTA database formats.
The ATA/TMC VMRS Coding system is 9-digits. If you plan to use these codes for work orders, you will need to make sure that your RTA system is configured to use the full 9-digit coding system and not an abbreviated form after you install this file. In RTA, check option 38 under the configuration screen SYSTEM > SETUP SYSTEM SWITCHES > MAIN SYSTEM PARAMETERS. This is not necessary if you are only replacing the parts VRMS codes.
Download the .zip files from the links above, then extract the .zip file contents into the folder where your RTA Fleet Management Software is installed (answer YES to overwrite existing files).
