Pillar 3: Resource Efficiency

8:40 – 9:40 a.m. | Track: Defining Fleet Success

Unfortunately, while we all wish we didn’t have budget or time constraints at our operation, we do. Establishing resource efficiency — which includes making the best use of your two most finite resources, time and money — is key to making your fleet operation successful. In this class we will provide tips for how you can better use your resources around your shop, including getting the most out of your employees’ time by adding efficiencies to their day.

Asset depreciation is always the single biggest cost in managing a fleet operation. These costs range between 50-70 percent of the total cost of ownership. The quickest way to mitigate, manage and reduce fleet costs is to ensure you have the right number of assets necessary to perform the mission.

  • Learn why rightsizing and replacement go hand-in-hand with efficient fleet management.
  • Explore the benefits of using RTA data to monitor asset utilization to efficiently right-size your fleet operation.
  • Examine how to perform a right-sizing analysis of your fleet using the RTA data.

Routines – Daily, Weekly, Monthly

8:40 – 9:40 a.m. | Track: The Best “Parts” of RTA

This session presents standard operating procedures for scheduled work in the RTA software.  We’ll discuss Best Practices to optimize routines performed in RTA and discuss how one process affects another.  We’ll explain the most efficient daily routine to enter work orders, process fuel, check for PMs due and replenish the parts inventory.  Establish monthly and yearly procedures to verify they’re being completed in the correct order, and nothing is missed during the process.

Seeing the Data – Dashboards and Lists

8:40 – 9:40 a.m. | Track: Working the System
